We all need to take time off to enjoy our families. Our grandson, Evan is visiting this week

from Chicago.  He wanted to take me for a ride in the yellow VW "Bug" at the Children's

Museum in Grand Rapids - What a Ride!

Currently, they have Curious George Exhibits for the children to explore, besides the other

exciting hands on exhibits.  Don't forget to visit the honey bees who live and work at the

Grand Rapids Children's Museum.

Grand Rapids MI Forest Hills Schools Post Outstanding 2009-2010 MEAP Scores

 

Forest Hills students have posted outstanding MEAP scores

 for  the 2009-2010 year.  The Forest Hills students placed at

 the top of  the Kent County District and the State of Michigan

 charts. 

In Mathematics, Reading Science, and Social Studies the

 percent of Forest Hills students continues to be higher

 for every test than what was achieved overall by students

 in the District & State.  Some of the results already meet

the federal requirements of No Child Left Behind mandate

 of 100% proficiency by 2014.

As state and federal governments have raised expectations

for student performance, Forest Hills students have recorded

higher levels of achievement.  The school staff, parents and

students should be be proud of the effort and accomplishment

for this year’s test scores.

We are Watching The Squirrel Winter Olympics 2010


When you live in a cold climate, the winters are long.

We find our amusements in our backyard. We have a feeder for the birds.

We enjoy watching them up close.

 

We have several other neighbors who like our feeder, too. 

They are always looking for a free lunch, free breakfast, free snack.

It becomes a part time job to keep them away from the black

gold known as sunflower seeds.

 

If startled, the moochers will fly into the air and land with a thud! 

It is about 14 feet to the ground.

We will show “The Moocher” in his dare-devil Olympic Class maneuvers……
