Kent County Amateur Golf Championship July 11th and 12th 2009

This is the kind of real estate I prefer to all others, especially on the weekend.

No hassles, just blue sky, green grass, and an 18 hole challenge.  I played

at L E Kaufman Golf Course today. A Kent County public course in Grand Rapids

that is rated one of the best courses in Michigan. It will host the the Kent County

Amateur again this year on July 11th and 12th.

I didn't play particularly well today, but the course was in good shape, and

I had 3 new friends to share the morning round.

I took a few pictures so you can see a sampling of what this course looks like.

It is hard to believe to you are about 10-15 minutes away from downtown

Grand Rapids.  I guess this why we love Michigan and the Grand Rapids area.

And I'll bet the weather there is not a swealtering 95 degrees (with high humidity) like it's been here in NC!  Great pictures!

I'm not much of a golfer but I really love golf courses. I like to zoom around in golf carts, but since I never know where I am going, it's easy to make myself an easy target for getting smacked in the head by a stray golf ball.

When I was a kid, I used to play on golf courses. I'd look for golf balls, pick them up, wash them off and sell them back to the golfers. See, I was destined to be in real estate.

Great photos, Terry.

Elizabeth, It is a wonderful place to play except for the occasional wild shot.

Sounds like a great day of golf Terry. Judging by the pictures the weather was perfect!

Bill, It is always perfect in Michigan 12 months a year at 75 degrees and beautiful weather.  The snow and cold weather is just a myth.

Looks like those friends you made are going to complain about your bad shots at all. Those are the best kinds of friends to have on the golf course with you.

Terry, cool looking golf course pictures you have there!  I grew up in a house that backed up to a golf course, and my first business was selling balls back to the golfers.

Patricia, We have a few enterprising youngsters that sell balls and cold drinks in the back part of the course.
