Tuesday was the first day of the Ada Farm Market at a new place,
Ada Reformed Community Church. The Farm Market will run Tuesdays, 2-7 pm
from now until the end of September. We took a video so you could see the
market for yourself.
We found all kinds of goodies, freshly roasted coffee, chickens and other meat
available from local farmers. Fresh strawberries, sweet cherries, lettuce, Walla-Walla
onions, radishes, and other great looking items. Some of the farmers will sell you
a share in their crops. You contribute a set amount and they will deliver fresh
produce to you every week all summer!! We might look into that if our gardening
days are getting too difficult.
We came home with some freshly picked black raspberries and a King Kong Coleus.
I will definitely be back next week for some of those Walla-Walla onions and fresh
eggs from free range chickens.

Terry--I love the fresh produce of the farmer's markets but there are no coop deliveries around here! What a great service. I hate going back and forth to the store for fresh veggies every few days!
Teri, We like the in season produce. Sweet cherries are in season and soo good.
I was just about to write about a local produce stand. This is such a great time of year to live where such great farmer's markets like yours are close by. It is interesting that our season is slightly ahead...our strawberries are gone but we have blueberries and blackberries. I wish we had the delivery serice too!
Lots of vendors and some happy-looking customers. Love our local farmer's market, too.
Diane, We are in North Carolina right now and saw a local farmers Market has Peaches ready We may have to take some Back to Michigan.
Margaret, We are glad to have our local one open again.
The Ada farm market sounds like a cool place. I am always up for some fresh fruit!
Bill, We like the fresh produce also. We look forward to it every week.
We go to farmers' markets and also subscribe to a cooperative delivery. Yummmm, cherries. I love cherries. I think cherries are my favorite fruit, and my neighbor has a cherry tree in her yard. I've been supplying her with cukes and get cherries in return.
My wife will buy sweet cherries and if I don't get home soon she will eat them all. I do enjoy fresh produce.
Nothing like summertime and fresh produce. We have a couple of Farmer's markets' on Southern Maryland. I say a flyer the other day for a small "Farmers Market" for a 6 weeks in a parking lot fundraiser for "WIC". Our food banks are low and I thought this was a wonderful idea.
Monique: Great idea for a fund raiser summer is such a great time for fresh food.
Terry, farmer's markets are really wonderful placed. Their produce is like nothing you get at the supermarket.
Patricia, The tomatoes are so much better it's like they are totally different from store bought.
