Squirrels & Lunch Go Together in Grand Rapids Michigan

Squirrels and Lunch go together at our house....breakfast and dinner, too.

Mainly because our bird feeder is right outside our dining room window.

This particular squirrel is a favorite dining companion, she shows up every day like clockwork,

rain or shine.

She likes to pose for close-ups - what a ham!

Although the food is exactly the same every day - FREE - she never complains.

Yes, we know it is a she because we can see her that closely!  She likes to keep an eye

on us in case we do something aggressive.  As in, open the window and knock her off the

feeder.

Are you having friends over for lunch today?  We are!

Is it always her or does she bring friends?  My dog would be going absolutely crazy!

She comes alone - the male is even bigger.  Our dog only sees them occasionally - she is usually napping.

I know we do everything we can to keep the squirrels out but they are just so darn cute getting in to the bird food.

Nice shots...almost looks like he/she was posing for the photos. I have learned to use cable or chain as the hanger because they will chew the string or rope in half and the whole feeder comes crashing down.

Those are great shots!  Looks like a lot of work for the seeds that they get!

Very cute pictures.  I especially like the last two shots.

Love your title... but not necessarily! My daughter and I were recently having lunch by the La Jolla Cove and the beach squirrels smelled the food and CHASED us to our car!  Agressive lil' guys!  Love these photos thanks for sharing them with us!
